Strathcona BIA
Report Card.
Collaboration. Transparency. Innovation.
The Strathcona Business Improvement Association is committed to fostering a prosperous, productive and predictable community where businesses, workforce and visitors alike can work, live, invest, and play. To ensure our neighborhood continues to grow in a balanced and manageable way, we have introduced the Strathcona BIA Report Card. This innovative tool is designed to assess the health and vitality of Strathcona across key areas, providing a comprehensive understanding of our community’s strengths and challenges.
Our Objectives
- Performance Monitoring: To provide an accurate and up-to-date assessment of key aspects affecting Strathcona’s development.
- Community Engagement: To involve a broad spectrum of community voices in shaping the future of Strathcona.
- Improvement Planning: To identify opportunities for improvement and guide policy and investment decisions.
- Transparency and Accountability: To maintain open communication with our members, the general public, and local government.
Our Structure
The Strathcona BIA Report Card is structured around five key areas that are vital to the well-being and growth of our community. Each area is evaluated based on qualitative assessments provided by our committee, supported by robust information and expert insights.
Our Process
A diverse committee of 15 to 30 members is formed, representing different segments of Strathcona BIA’s membership.
The committee gathers qualitative insights through standardized forms, interviews, and focus groups, focusing on each of the five key areas.
The collected information is categorized, analyzed for recurring themes, and synthesized into coherent narratives that reflect the community’s experiences and perceptions.
Drafts of the report card are reviewed by the committee for accuracy and balance, ensuring that all voices are represented.
The final Report Card is published, with key findings shared via a combination of narrative summaries and visual tools like charts and maps.
The Committee
The Role of the Committee:
The heart of the Report Card is the committee—a group of dedicated individuals who bring their unique perspectives to the table. By representing various sub-areas and segments of our community, the committee ensures that the Report Card is comprehensive and truly reflective of Strathcona’s diverse population.
