WebsiteVancouver Japanese Language School & Japanese Hall.
The Vancouver Japanese Language School and Japanese Hall was founded in 1906 and is the oldest Japanese Language School in Canada. The current building was built in 1928 to expand and become a community centre, and it remains a powerful symbol of community strength and resilience. The building was named a National Historic in 2019, alongside sites like Stanley Park, Lions Gate Bridge and Gulf of Georgia Cannery in Steveston. For more information about their programming, including the Childrens World Child Care and Japanese Language classes visit their website.
