Artist statement: Watch Over This Child is a call to action, a directive to the audience to take responsibility for the well-being of each other Too often we retreat to the safety of the familiar and dismiss and neglect what we fear or fail to understand. Today, it’s as important as ever to respect and honour one another as we do our parents and ancestors. Moreover, we must care for and protect each other as we would our own children.
